Finally, warm enough to play outside!

It wasn't that warm, but warm and sunny enough to head outside. We'll take what we can get at this point! We headed over to play with our friends Ann, Ava and Lily. Pam, Daniel and Lydia came over, too. We went for a walk to a new coffee shop and then played in Ann's back yard. Xander was having so much fun being outside, I wasn't sure he was ever going to want to come inside. Even though his nose was pretty red, he seemed to be soaking up every moment in the fresh air he could get.

Later in the evening, after dinner, bath and PJs, we played downstairs in the playroom and had a fun, relaxing evening. We are hoping the weather is even better tomorrow. If it is, we are heading out to meet friends at the park. We can't wait for Spring!
Strolling along. As Xander would say, it was a "nice sunny day". We hear that from him a lot these days.

Xander wanted to get out and push the stroller for a while. He is also trying to get at mommy's coffee cup! Yeah, that is just what he needs, caffeine!

Either mud on his face or mushy rabbit turds - who can say? We'll just call it mud and leave it at that...

Edinborough Park

After Chris got home from work and we were done with dinner, we hopped in the car and headed for the indoor park in Edina. The idea was to let Xander run wild for an hour or so to wear him out. I think Chris was more tired than Xander when we were done! It was good for the two boys to spend some time together, running around and playing. They climbed very high and went down very fast slides.

Chris is getting pooped, but Xander is the energizer bunny!

Colorful cones, what more could a boy ask for?

Xander on the little slide. A little more his speed.

Xander and daddy on the big, fast slide. He went down on it once by himself, but it is just too fast for him to keep his balance. After watching an older girl crack her head on the slide, it seemed best if he went down with his daddy.

Playdate at Sovereign Grounds

I took Xander to the coffee shop so that he could play with toys and friends and I could have some adult conversation and coffee. We both needed it! Xander got to play with his friend, Omar, while his mom, Liz and I chatted. Xander was playing on the piano and Omar came over and wanted to play too. So Xander scooted over and they played together. Very cute!
Aren't they cute?

The New Vacuum Cleaner

One of Xander's great loves is a vacuum cleaner. He loves anything that helps clean: brooms, mops, rakes, shovels, dust busters, spray bottles, towels and sponges. But his favorite right now is the vacuum cleaner. Since ours crapped out about a month ago, we have been using a cordless sweeper. But we finally went and bought our new vacuum cleaner. Xander had a blast learning how to dismantle it within minutes of being home!

Another long day

It was cold outside today, so we stayed in. Chris was at work all day and class all night, so it was a very long day. I tried to take pictures, but Xander just looked so bored! We need to get out of the house!

Playdate at Riverview Cafe

We met our friend Liz and her little boy, Omar at the coffee shop today. It is a nice, clean place that is fun for the both of us. There is a small play area for Xander and yummy coffee and food for me. I treated myself to a Mocha and bought a sandwich for the both of us to share. Xander didn't want to leave, but we wrapped up our outing by sitting on a couch and reading a few books. Then we headed home for naptime.

Hanging In Our PJs

Chris was back at it for a long day. We spent the first part of the day in our PJs, dancing around the living room. Later, Xander's grandma came over to entertain him while I got some things done and made dinner.

Y
My Valentine
I was reminiscing as to how we got here. I think these photos speak for themselves!

Any excuse to pull out the wedding photos...!

1st Anniversary - 2nd Honeymoon. With more money, we would have made this a yearly event!
All that practice came in handy! Can you believe that I was only 26 weeks pregnant? Now that was one big kid - and still is!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It is another long Tuesday for us at home, with Chris at work and then school, but we made it a little better by getting together for a special Valentine's Day lunch. Then it was time to come home and take a nap. After waking up from what seems to be a bad dream, Xander is spending the evening playing hard. Hopefully he will go to sleep early tonight so that I can get some stuff done and take a long, relaxing bath before my hubby comes home.

36? Say it isn't so!

Yes, another birthday has come and gone. They seem to come faster and faster each and every year. It was a good day, even though I wasn't feeling so good. In the morning, Xander came in and told me "Happy Birthday" that his daddy had been teaching him to say. After opening presents, Chris made blueberry pancakes for us all. Yummy! We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing while Xander took his nap. After he woke up, we went to the Mall of America for a little shopping and dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. After we got home and Xander was tucked into bed, we got to play with my new birthday present - an iPod Shuffle! Thank you Chris, Xander, Linda and Jimmy for giving me such a neat gift. I know it will get used a lot! When we get the speakers set up in the living room, we will be groovin' to the tunes!
Mmmm....love daddy's blueberry pancakes

Another sick day...GRRRRRR....

I can't believe that I am sick again! Xander has a runny nose, but all signs are that he isn't sick, but teething badly. Me? I am sick. It is the same thing that I have been going through since Thanksgiving and I never seem to completely get over. Just when I think I am getting better, I get sick again. So, it was a lazy day for all of us. It would be nice if I felt better for my birthday!

Holiday Party

Tonight was Chris' company holiday party. It was held at the Mill City Museum. It was lots of fun, even though I could barely talk as I started losing my voice earlier in the day. D'Amicos catered the dinner and it was, as usual, delicious. And the desserts were even better! Xander's grandma Linda came over to watch him, so we could relax and have a good time. Chris played Black Jack while I watched. He lost $8,000 - of play money! I drank wine and did nothing to increase his luck. The only bet that he did win was the one we made on the way home. He asked what the chances were that his mom would be able to get Xander to go to sleep. I said that I thought he would be asleep already, but he thought that she didn't stand a chance of getting him to sleep. He won. We came home to find them in the rocking chair, him wide awake. I took over and he was asleep in 5 minutes. He knows I mean business, I guess!

Playdate with Ann, Ava and Lily

Our friends came over to play today and Xander had such a good time. He loves taking people into his room and showing them all of his books and puzzles. They alternated between his bedroom, living room and the playroom. Xander would go down stairs and the girls would squeal and run down after him, saying that they were playing hide and seek. I think it was more that Xander was off getting into things he wasn't supposed to and was trying to not get caught. But whatever the reason, it was so cute to see them get so excited! They are two of the cutest girls ever!!

Super Bowl Sunday

Xander's grandpa came over tonight to watch the game. But they didn't get to watch too much of it. Xander grabbed him and dragged him into his bedroom for some book reading and puzzle playing. After dinner and his bath, he was right back to climbing on him. He doesn't get to spend much time with his grandpa, and apparently was trying to savor every minute that he could!
