Hanging around the house

Here are some random photos taken around the house over the past couple of weeks that I thought were cute.

Chris reading Nathan one of my favorite books

Very large tower of blocks that Xander and Chris built

Me and the boys having a little snuggle

Xander...er....breaking in his new stuffed dino... What can I say?

Nate finding his play mat very funny

McRae Park

Another sunny day, another park. Never a big thrill for the little one, but a big break for the big one. And a chance for mommy to get out of the house and speak to other mommies! It is worth the struggle to get them both out the door.
Thankfully, I have people around that want a chance to hold Baby Nate. Even though he looks less than excited, it does give my arms a break. What do I do with my break? Take photos of that baby being held by those people. :)

That is one serious snack time!

Not quite sure who he is trying to contact... :-/

Farmstead Park

We joined some friends for some park fun. Thankfully it was not one of our scorching hot days so we could skip the pool and concentrate on playing in the sand.
Nate hanging out with his new little buddy, Tyler. Hard to believe that my little one is four months younger! Other than Tyler being a bit longer, they don't look that much different in age.

Team one on the teeter-totter: Maya, Connor and of course Lew hamming for the camera.

Team two: Xander, Zach and Natalie, with mommy Beth

Pool party at Ava and Lily's house

Another hot day and we headed over to Ava and Lily's house to play in the pool. Their mom Ann had to fly to Florida for a funeral :( and Noni was taking care of the girls that day. It ended up being a playdate at Ann's house and she wasn't even there!

Everyone in the pool!

Xander loves the floaties

Lew making Nate smile big!

The girls were a bit leary of Xander being in the pool with them. His energy is a bit...wild these days

A nice, cool drink?

Lew's birthday party

Nate conversing with his new toy

Xander and Samantha playing at the park (isn't she a cutie!?!)

He went down this slide so many times. He wouldn't go near it last year!

A little static in the hair :)

Gathering around Lew's birthday pinata. Xander has no idea what is going on!

Cooling off

Lew's party was at the Splash Pad, but Xander would have nothing to do with getting wet. I went through this last year and don't want to go through it again. He spent the summer avoiding getting wet and it took a long time to warm up to it. By the time he really got into it, summer was over! So, I decided that we would head outside to play in the sprinkler after his quiet time. It took a while, but he eventually started getting into it.

Jumping over the sprinkler

squatting on it is always a lot of fun, I guess

And finally he shed his soggy diaper and played in the nude

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa Boatman

My parents were in town from Florida and spent a few days with us. I didn't get to plan very much since I wasn't sure when they were coming or how long they were staying and because having a new baby limits getting out and about. They were probably bored to death, but we enjoyed just having them around for a while.

Swimming in the hotel pool

Once they came to stay with us, this is what my dad did to entertain himself

Taking a break from bouncing to enjoy a snack

It was a long week and everyone is looking a little whipped

Oh, the torture!

I have been trying to pump and feed Nathan a bottle so that Daddy (or anyone else) can feed him once in a while. So far it is not working and he has been very stubborn about it.
Picture is blurry because he has starting kicking his legs in protest

And now he is screaming in protest!

Day of the doctor appointments

We went a little crazy and scheduled a bunch of appointments on the same day so that Chris wouldn't have to miss much work. So, we had two appointments for Nathan, one for Xander and one for Chris. The last appointment being done just in time for an early dinner, the plan was to find somewhere to eat. What were we thinking? By the end of the last appointment, Xander was acting up and there was no way we could go to a restaurant. He actually fell asleep in the car, which he never does and didn't wake up when Chris brought him inside. But in the end, all went well and everyone is healthy.

A little morning nap on daddy before heading out the door

We know he is a big boy, his two month doctor appointment just confirmed it for us. He is in the 97+ percentile for his age

Xander's turned to be crashed out on daddy

Trying to unwind

Round 2 of the birthday cake

We saved a piece of birthday cake for Xander to enjoy later. Of course he picked the elephant, which is the thickest frosting on the cake. That's my boy!

Look mom, it's like an inch thick!

A piece of cake the size of his head

Yummy blue frosting! That has to be good for you, right?
