Grandpa Jimmy met us at the zoo on his day off. It is hard to get together as much as we should and Xander especially loves spending time with him. We all had lots of fun!

Happy Birthday to me! Blah!!
Day before my birthday stunk. Chris, the sweetie that he is, surprised me by taking my birthday off so that we could all do something special and to help me out. We had a nice lunch out, the boys bought me a yummy cake. We were planning to drop the boys off for a bit so we could go out for dinner, but Xander decided to throw a massive tantrum over nothing and that was then end of that. Don't even remember if I ate dinner. So, to sum it up...turning 38 sucked. The End.

Pasta sauce and the rockin' hair do
Nate is just getting going on solid foods these days. We decided not to push the baby food and let him go at his own pace. You know they are ready when they reach over and grab your fork or sandwich! He wouldn't eat jarred baby food, so now that he is eating, it is mainly sampling what we all are having. This is him eating a bowlful of Tortelini with marinara sauce and garlic bread. Some of it actually made it in his mouth! The only fun part of cleaning up this mess is to wipe him down and make his hair funky.

Xander's big fat lip and Nate's first shower
Xander got a painful lesson on the dangers of laying on his back while dangling heavy toys above him. He dropped the it right on his mouth and out poured the blood. It looked so painful! I thought for sure it would impare his eating ability, but it didn't slow him down a bit.

Trip to the Transportation Museum
Chris took Xander to the Transportation Museum/Jackson Street Roundhouse in St. Paul. They had a great time! They bought tickets to go for a ride in the caboose, but it was so packed that they asked for a volunteer to ride up front in the engine. Xander was so excited when he got picked! He got to see how everything works and got to help the Engineer. He keeps asking when he can go back again.

Caleb and Mason's birthday party
We went to Pearl Park to celebrate friends Caleb and Mason's 4th birthdays. The kids ran around the gym and then got to eat yummy treats, and of course, cake! Hard to believe how old all of our kids are getting...
